Learn the skill. Build it for real.
RankHex is being built as a technical learning platform that combines structured paths, guided hands-on practice, and AI support so you can prove practical skill instead of only watching it.
- Structured lessons
- Hands-on labs
- AI guidance
This is a website prototype. Demonstrations run entirely in your browser, and some capabilities shown here are planned rather than available today.
Kubernetes in Practice
$ kubectl get pods
NAME READY STATUS
web-6f9c 1/1 Running
api-77d2 1/1 Running
- Explain what a Service does — completed
- Expose a workload to the cluster — not yet completed
- Verify reachability — not yet completed
AI hint
Before changing anything, check the Service selector against the pod labels. A mismatch is the most common reason a workload looks unreachable.
How it works
Learn the concept, practice the skill, prove the outcome
Most learning stops at understanding. RankHex is designed to keep going — from a clear explanation, to deliberate practice, to something you can actually show.
The same concept — exposing a Kubernetes workload — moves from explanation, to a guided lab, to reviewable evidence of what you proved.
- 01
Learn
Structured paths turn a broad goal into a clear sequence of concepts, so you always know what to study next and why it matters.
- Sequenced lessons
- Plain-language explanations
- Checkpoints for understanding
- 02
Practice
Apply each concept in guided, browser-based labs and small projects that reflect real work rather than isolated trivia.
- Guided labs
- Buildable mini-projects
- Feedback on your approach
- 03
Demonstrate
Assemble completed work into evidence you can review and share, so progress is visible instead of assumed.
- Saved project work
- Skills you can point to
- A record of what you built
Illustrative example
Evidence: Service connectivity fix
- Guided lab completed — verified
- Task validated on retry — verified
- Troubleshooting write-up attached — verified
Recorded output
$ kubectl get svc web
web ClusterIP 10.96.0.14 80/TCP
$ curl -sI web | head -1
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Sample evidence for layout. RankHex does not yet generate or store real reports.
Sample catalog
A catalog organized around practical skills
Learning paths group related lessons, labs, and projects so a topic becomes a capability. The tracks below are illustrative samples of the intended structure.
DevOps Foundations
Build a working mental model of automation, version control, and repeatable delivery.
- Git workflows
- Shell fundamentals
- Pipelines
Cloud Engineering
Provision and reason about core cloud primitives, networking, and identity.
- Compute
- Networking
- IAM
Kubernetes in Practice
Run, expose, and troubleshoot workloads across a cluster you can reason about.
- Workloads
- Services
- Debugging
Platform Engineering
Design internal developer platforms with clear interfaces and reliable guardrails.
- Golden paths
- GitOps
- Observability
AI Engineering
Compose LLM applications with evaluation, guardrails, and cost awareness.
- Retrieval
- Evaluation
- Prompt design
Linux and Networking Essentials
Understand the operating system and network layer that everything else builds on.
- Processes
- Filesystems
- TCP/IP
Sample content for layout purposes. Real paths and durations will be added as the catalog is built.
Hands-on labs
Practice in the browser, not just in theory
Labs are designed to run as guided, browser-based environments. This preview simulates one small task end to end.
Verify a web service
A sample web service should be running and reachable. Inspect its configuration, check the service status, and confirm the listening port.
- List the service configuration files — not yet completed
- Confirm the web service is active — not yet completed
- Verify the service listens on port 8080 — not yet completed
Press “Run demo” to simulate the task. No commands are executed and no data leaves your browser.
AI learning support
Help that guides without giving away the answer
Instead of handing over solutions, AI support is designed to offer graduated hints — a concept, then a diagnostic clue, then a fuller explanation.
Prewritten demonstration. No live AI model is contacted and no data leaves your browser.
You asked
Why would the web service show as failed?
A service reports failure when its start command exits with a non-zero status, or when it stops shortly after starting. The service manager records the reason so you can find it without guessing.
Questions
What to expect right now
Honest answers about what this prototype does and does not do.
Is RankHex available to use today?
Not yet. This site is a prototype that shows the intended structure and interactions. Access is being prepared, and the early-access form is a demonstration rather than a live signup.
Do the labs run real systems?
No. The lab on this page is a browser simulation with prewritten output. Real, guided lab environments are a planned capability, not something this prototype provisions.
Is the AI support a live model?
No. The AI examples are prewritten and run entirely in your browser. No model is contacted and no data is sent.
What will the platform cost?
Pricing has not been decided. Any plans will be published clearly before anything is charged.
